Gauze isn’t just a band.
It’s a creative collective.
What started off as a project between two high school friends in 2022, grew into a shared creative outlet. The Maui DIY music scene brought together lead vocalist Mākena, drummer Huey, bassist Coletrane, and guitarists Mykah and Joe. Taking inspiration from their mutual tastes in rock and metal, Gauze pioneers an innovative sound that bleeds past traditional shoegaze elements; layering technical melodies and lively rhythms to complement soulful lyrics. Though still on the rise, Gauze is a powerhouse.
